Artist And Libertarian Jesyka Hope

How long have you been making your art? How did you get into it?

Jesyka Hope: The art I make now, about 7 years or so, but I've been doing art my whole life! I used to draw Fran Drescher's outfits from The Nanny, The Spice Girls, and Cha Cha from Grease

What are your influences? Who or what inspires you?

Jesyka: I find so many cool artists on Instagram and Tiktok, I save posts constantly as inspiration. I love Jordan Clark on YouTube and Instagram, MrBabies on Instagram, Kazland on Tiktok, Sara Camposarcone on Tiktok, and paints.v on Instagram. I'm inspired by the absurd, Lady Gaga, Salvador Dalí, Audrey Kitching, the club kids of the 80s and 90s, nature, punk rock, hippies, witchy girls, drag queens and the art of drag, and all things 90s!

Do you create art with a specific message, or do you prefer art for arts sake?

Jesyka: I usually make art just for art's sake - pretty florals, abstract collages, related to pop culture in some way, whatever looks pretty to my eyes!

What is your creative process like? What tools and methods do you use to make your art?

Jesyka: I love to make mixed media pieces, like collages with paint and paper and glitter, etc. I also love to reuse/upcycle items, like clean trash items. Everything has the potential to be art!

How long have you considered yourself a libertarian?

Jesyka: I started questioning how the world is run in 2012 when I was looking into different theories and alternative politics. I officially adopted my anarchist label in 2013 and it changed my life!

What do you think the role of art should be in the libertarian movement?

Jesyka: It can be as small as just giving the community something nice to look at, or as big as using it to spread a message of peace, freedom, and love!

Where can people go to view and purchase your art?

Jesyka: My website is hausofhope.art, my FB page is Haus of Hope, and my Instagram is @officialhausofhope
